Night Shelter

Our night shelter services are an essential element of helping rough sleepers and to fulfilling our goal of reducing – and ultimately ending – rough sleeping in our community.

Our individual Night Shelter rooms offer warmth, safety and security – something that many service users haven’t experienced for quite some time. We provide practical aid, including:

  • A hot meal

  • Access to showers and a change of clothes.

  • But just as importantly the tailored support that we provide is the beginning of a route off the streets.

We provide practical aid, including a hot meal, showers, and a change of clothing, but just as importantly the tailored support that we provide is the beginning of a route off the streets.

After spending time on the streets, the safe and secure environment of our Night Shelter can make a massive difference to someone’s mental and physical wellbeing. Instead of simply thinking of survival, our facilities and our tailored support plans enable service users to think more clearly and to build aspiration again.

Our Night Shelter has been open every night of year ever since our move to the Hope Centre in 2018 and since 2024 our Night Shelter residents have been able to access their rooms 24/7 – giving a genuine break from life on the streets.

Today, the average length of stay in the shelter is 4 weeks, and our experienced team of support staff work hard with our partners in the area to assist service users to move onto appropriate and sustainable housing.
